Brendan Steele will tee it up this week in the first tournament of the new 2020/21 PGA Tour season — the Safeway Open on the Silverado Resort and Spa North Course in Napa, California — an event he has won twice before.
This will mark his 11th year on the PGA Tour.
The Idyllwild native, who will be 38 next April, is currently ranked the 103rd-best player in the world in the Official World Golf Ranking.
He just completed the PGA Tour 2019/20 season ranked 47th on the FedExCup points list.
He’ll be looking to improve on that latter ranking this season, needing to be in the top-30 to be eligible for the Tour Championship, the final tournament of the 2020/21 season.
Brendan will tee off this week on Thursday at 7:30 a.m. PDT and Friday at 12:30 p.m. PDT. He’ll be playing both days with Phil Michelson and Shane Lowry. Follow him shot-for-shot in 3D using the PGA Tour’s TourCAST feature on its website at pgatour.com.
