Brendan Steele put together rounds of 70-73-77-72 for a 4-over-par — 292 at the Bay Hill Club course in Orlando, Florida, last week to finish in a respectable tie for 26th place in the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
On a tough course, the Idyllwild native averaged drives of 308 yards into 55% of the fairways while hitting 61% of the greens in regulation and still losing 1.48 strokes per round to the field. Brendan is now 44th on the FedExCup points list and is the 142nd ranked golfer in the Official World Golf Ranking.
He plays this week in the $20 million The Players Championship on the TPC Sawgrass course Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, a tournament often touted as the fifth major. The Players was not held in 2020, but in the five most-recent years apart from that year, Brendan tied for 6th, 41st, 57th and 79th and was cut only once.
B will tee off on Thursday at 10:51 a.m PT and on Friday at 5:46 a.m. PT, playing both days with Emiliano Grillo and Matthew NeSmith.
The tournament will be telecast on the Golf Channel and also on NBC on the weekend. You can follow Brendan shot-for-shot in 3D with TOURCast on the pgatour.com website or with the PGA Tour cellphone app.
