Ruiz campaign a contribution magnet
Rep. Dr. Raul Ruiz less than half way through his third term in the U.S. House of Representatives, continues to receive substantial campaign contributions. Through the end of June, Ruiz had $1.6 million in cash available. At this point two years ago, Ruiz had $690,000 available for his second re-election campaign. He went on to raise a total of $3.4 million for his race.
No official challengers have emerged to run against Ruiz and his full campaign chest.
Since January, Ruiz’s campaign has raised nearly $1 million in contributions without a specific opponent named. More than half the funds have been from contributions greater than $2,000.
