Thomas
Last week in “Days of Our Nine Lives,” ARF cats discussed reasons why humans should welcome cats into their homes.

Mr. Gray: Let’s have a little meeting here to come up with good adoption strategies for us cats.
Thomas: OK! Maybe we could each talk about what great family members we would be.
Mr. Gray: That’s a good start. I am very handsome and very affectionate. What about you, Thomas?
Thomas: I like to be petted, I’m a good-looker, and I know how to entertain myself.
George: I’m not a demanding guy, and I will be good company, always around when needed.
Pepper: I like attention, but I don’t bother my humans, you know, like walking across the computer keyboard. I know my boundaries.
Bear: I am very quiet and often keep to myself, but I really do like to be petted and brushed.
Sadie: I will always make a human feel important and loved.
Zeus: A human won’t mistakenly step on me! I am pure white, which is good when it’s dark, and I’m a big boy.
Heavenly Whiskers: I will be no imposition in any home. Just give me a cat condo for napping, a little attention when I want it, and I’m a happy cat.
Mr. Gray: We all sound like good catches!
George: And all of us are little to no trouble. We all use the litter box and are neat diners.
Thomas: And we don’t have to go to a groomer. We take care of that ourselves!
Mr. Gray: I hate to break it to some humans, but we are less dependent upon them than dogs are!
Heavenly Whiskers: No one needs to take us for a walk.
George: And in general, we live longer than dogs.
Pepper: But one of the best things is we are way quieter than dogs!
Sadie: Ha! That’s for sure.
Be sure to keep up with the animal antics of “Days of Our Nine Lives” each week. And please stop in to say hello to the entire adoptable cast at the ARF House, 26890 Hwy. 243 on Saturdays 10-4 and Sundays 10-2, or by appointment M-F by calling 951-659-1122.

Editor: Both sides fought with all they had. Too many died. Many fought because they loved and wanted to protect their countries. Many were forced to fight.
