Brendan Steele will play this week in the $11.5-million The Open Championship at the Royal St. George’s Golf Club in Sandwich, Kent, England. The Open is one of the four major championships in golf.
Brendan has played The Open four times on various U.K. courses. His best and most-recent finish was a tie for 47th at Carnoustie, Scotland in 2018.
The Idyllwild native goes into The Open standing 85th in the FedExCup Points list and 91st on the Official World Golf Ranking.
Brendan will tee off Thursday at 3:58 a.m. PDT and again Thursday evening at 10:57 p.m. PDT, playing with Harold Varner III and Matthias Schmid both rounds.
The tournament will be telecast on the Golf Channel Thursday and Friday, with NBC coverage on the weekend days. You may also follow Brendan on the pgatour.com or theopen.com websites on computer or cellphone.
