Alan Wayne Drotar
Alan Wayne Drotar, or AWD, as he sometimes liked to call himself, passed Dec. 3, 2011 at Loma Linda, Calif., Alan was a passionate man; fearless in his pursuits of physical challenges found in his work and in his sports.

He served our country as an active Marine during the Vietnam War and endured both physical and psychological pains throughout his life. His wounds went further and far deeper than the shrapnel lodged in his abdomen. Still he continued to live his life to the fullest of his abilities. He earned great respect from some, admiration from others, and some saw him as a wild man.

Those he allowed to know his heart loved him dearly. His parents, Frank and Hilda Mae, and brother Chuck, preceded him in death. His sister Frankie, brother Dan, and many nieces and nephews survive. His good spirit lives on within his three children, Tosh, Jedidiah and Alana, and their children.

A private service with military honors was held Jan. 6, 2012, at Acheson & Graham Mortuary in Riverside, Calif. His remains will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery.

For those who knew him and loved him and for those who fought with him, please honor and support our wounded warriors.
