Brendan Steele had a rough go of it at the Fortinet Championship in Napa last week. He posted a 77-72 — 149 to miss the cut by seven strokes.

The Idyllwild native’s drives averaged 318 yards, but into only 43% of the fairways, resulting in hitting only about 56% of the greens in regulation, and he dropped about five strokes against the field with his putter.

This week is Presidents Cup week, so the next scheduled PGA Tour event is the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Mississippi on Sept. 29.
