What if?
Dear editor:
I am asking, what if? What if the God of the Holy Bible is real? What if all the words in the Bible are true? What if heaven and hell are real? What if there is truth and there are lies?
What if God made only two sexes, male and female? What if God wanted only a man and a woman to marry each other?
What if lying, stealing, adultery, fornication, drugs, getting drunk, murder abortion are wrong?
What if all of us have sinned and need to repent? What if J-E-S-U-S are the letters to accept? What if Jesus is the way to Father God who loves us? — God who gave us His only Son and whomever believes in Him will not perish? What if?
What if He, Jesus, is the answer to our problems? What if He will meet all our needs, our need for love, joy, peace, our sorrow, hurts, fears, rejection, aloneness, loneliness, our addictions, our emotional and physical pain, plus more?
Yes, what if?

Veterans Day
Dear editor:
Veterans Day, observed annually Nov. 11, is a day of reflection, gratitude and respect for all those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. The holiday began in 1919 when President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed Nov. 11 as Armistice Day to memorialize the end of WW I and to reflect upon the heroism of those who died in our country’s service.
This day holds a special place in the hearts of all Americans as it provides us with an opportunity to express our deepest appreciation for the men and women who have selflessly defended our freedom and way of life. While most people recognize veterans on this day once per year, it is important to not overlook the role veterans play each day in America. Veterans service organizations, such as the Veterans of Foreign Wars, strive to highlight the importance of veterans all year long.
In California, home to a significant number of veterans and military installations, the impact of their service is particularly profound. Californians have a proud tradition of supporting our veterans, and Veterans Day is an occasion for us to unite in celebrating that tradition. It is a day for parades, memorial services and gatherings where we express our gratitude to those who have served, and also for educating future generations about the value of service and sacrifice.
This Veterans Day, we encourage you to reflect on the important contributions veterans make both in our nation and in our individual communities. Take a moment to thank a veteran for their service or contact your local VFW Post to see how you can make a positive difference in the lives of veterans and their families. Lastly, let us reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that no veteran is left behind and that their sacrifices are never forgotten.
