Here’s urging Supv. Chuck Washington to bring two names before his fellow supervisors soon — two appointees to fill the vacancies on the Idyllwild Water District board. This agency has much business to conduct but current leadership places it in a stalemate. With a five-member board, there’s no way one man can block the others’…
Editor’s Note: We’ll continue to profile propane company representatives and company policies in subsequent editions as well as updating pricing from companies willing to provide that information. In our edition of Nov. 24, we reviewed propane spot prices nationally and regionally, and suggested to readers that it might be to customer advantage to check before…

More than a decade ago, I received a visit from a retired federal government official in my office on Village Center Drive. I had been forewarned about this visit from a friend. When the official arrived, my ear was to the phone in a conversation. I was on deadline. The person at the front desk…
It was a reunion of people from all over Southern California — parents, grandparents, children, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, girlfriends and widows. Yes, widows. And friends and co-workers. I attended the Saturday, Oct. 15, private screening of Marcia Waldorf and Jim Crawford’s infomercial, primarily filmed in Idyllwild. Most of those who attended appeared on screen. Three things impressed me about the infomercial that will air nationwide around January. One, it highly promoted our beautiful village, showcasing several local businesses, as well as our…
