Last week in “Days of Our Nine Lives,” the ARF cats and dog Tex celebrated the adoption of two kittens and welcomed three more. Panther: Is there a revolving door on this place? Tex: Why? What’s going on? Panther: Two of the three new kittens were adopted on Saturday. Peter Pan and Wendy were adopted…
Time passed me by since I coined an opinion in this column, and I’m surprised I’ve evaded some readers’ pointed observations of that. Several “other” newspaper business deadlines involving press association, management and other print products overfilled my plate like a Paul Bunyan burger at the Lumber Mill. But those deadlines are memories for another…
Editor: With all due respect, in the Town Crier, Sept. 13, issue, Dr. Haddad made a few statements that caused me concern: “The issue is what’s legal.” “If you don’t like our laws, change them. It’s your right.” As we have seen over decades of politics in this country, especially apparent during this administration, the…

Last week in “Days of Our Nine Lives,” the ARF cats and dog Tex once again discussed finding a forever family. Panther: Great news! Gather ’round everyone. Last week in “Days of Our Nine Lives,” the ARF cats and dog, Tex, wondered what it will take to find a forever family. Panther: So, last week a really nice lady came into the ARF House. She sat in the big green chair, and I jumped onto her lap. Astro: Was she OK with…
Editor: Sorry to contradict, but Rabbi Drucker’s reasoning is flawed. The issue is not what’s fair. The issue is what’s legal. No nation is only “for itself,” though a person may be only for himself. A nation is a society bounded by laws which, in our case, are freely chosen and agreed to by the…
Editor: One should first ask, “Why does IWD want to consolidate? Is it out of the goodness of their hearts or would it bring some advantage to the customers in Pine Cove or Fern Valley?” The answer to all of the above is a resounding no. Consolidation is an advantage to only one small group…
Editor: This watershed group is a sham. They masquerade as environmentalists. They have no intent to define a scope or define measurable outcomes other than consolidation as if that leads to good watershed management because they were recruited. Outrageous. I’m for good watershed management and production of safe, reliable drinking water. That’s not Idyllwild Water…
