This is National Library Week. Visit our library and see what new features it has to offer. From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, Maria Reyes will offer her weekly Spanish language class for homeschoolers, a program designed for children but to which the whole community is welcome. From 1 to 2 p.m….
You know those websites offering free samples with just a click and then, after you click once, you find endless requirements to click through offers until you get to the offer you sought in the beginning — or you’ve completely forgotten the dang offer? They are appropriately called websites because I got caught like a…
On Saturday, April 26, the public is invited to a festive and informative gathering in Idyllwild of people connected to fire prevention and firefighting. At no admission charge, we hope everyone will come and enjoy the activities. The Fire Safety Muster is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Idyllwild Community Center site in…

The Town Crier has decided to take our own suggestion by unofficially affiliating itself with the Friends of the Idyllwild Library and the library itself. Our library has enjoyed a long and…
Hurray and paws up for Chelsea, our shepherd-mix, and Twiggy, our gray cat, who have both been adopted this week. Here we have Lord Archibald (Archie) in the white and Lady Arabella (Bella) in the black. Lost, abandoned, dumped — that’s a question mark. They came to ARF together, and are very friendly. They will…
65 years ago – 1949 The snow survey team discovered about 6 feet of snow in Tahquitz Valley. 55 years ago – 1959 A new gateway marked the entrance to Idyllwild Pines Camp. Eighty tons of rock were used in the 19-foot-high supports. A 12-ton pine timber measuring 42 feet in length rested on…
