Editor: What happened to logic and common sense in our country? We have 40,000 citizens in California who lost everything in the wildfires; tax-paying, contributing, members of our society. We have several thousand people at our borders, many of whom have not respected or complied with our laws. They are forcefully trying to enter our…
Editor: I commend Mountain Disaster Preparedness for helping to prepare the community to deal with a wise policy of preventive power-grid shutdowns during hazardous fire weather. The recent community meeting (“MDP meeting covers, purchase, use of generators,” Town Crier, Nov. 22, 2018) focused on using fossil-fuel energy sources, but I would strongly encourage most Idyllwild…
Editor: We awoke to jets flying over our house this morning. We went to the Nature Center and had a wonderful hike accompanied by pretty much non-stop jets, now I am in my studio, jets galore. Tonight our sleep will probably be to the sound of jets flying through the night. This started in 2017…
Last week in “Days of Our Nine Lives,” the ARF cats adjusted to New Sadie taking the spot of office cat. New Sadie: Great news everyone! All the puppies in the litter have been adopted. Bernard: But not I. Pepper: That’s OK, Bernard. You are so sweet, low-energy and loving, you’ll soon find your forever…

We especially are grateful to Chris Perrault for organizing and to the Butterfields for bringing life back to Eleanor Park. We really appreciate the special place we call…
Editor: The current state of the Idyllwild Water District is very good. Our mission “to provide reliable water and sewer service in a safe, cost-effective and environmentally sound manner in accordance with the community needs” is being actively pursued. During the drought, the reliability of water has been very good. The sewer system continues to…

Last week in “Days of Our Nine Lives,” the ARF cats were wondering who will be the new office cat and met the puppies. Pepper: Well, this is interesting. Zeus: Do tell! Pepper: The office cat is now a brand-new cat! Whatever happened to seniority? New Sadie: You must be talking about me. My name…
