Idyllwild Pines gives to skate park

Beyond the end of August, the future of the Idyllwild Skate Park is uncertain, but it will be open each weekend this month, thanks to a donation from Idyllwild Pines Camp (IPC). While Idyllwild Community Recreation Council Acting Chair (ICRC) Dawn Sonnier was hoping to get financial support from Riverside County to keep the park open, that door seems closed for now.

Horseshoe tournament champion wins for second year

Shane Fender, Town Crier Advertising sales representative, took first place at the annual American Legion Post 800 Horseshoe Tournament for the second year in a row. Fender took first-place honors with randomly chosen partner Chad Marler. According to tournament rules, all partners are chosen randomly. Thirty-two players competed.
