Joann Wolcott, 63, of Pine Cove, died Friday, January 28, 2000, of heart failure at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance.

Mrs. Wolcott was born Nov. 17, 1936, in Mt. Clemens, Mich. She and her late husband, Fred, owned many businesses in Idyllwild for 29 years, most recently the Radio Shack. After her retirement, she worked at Country Farms. Mrs. Wolcott enjoyed genealogy and was a longtime member of Soroptimist International of Idyllwild.

In May 1999, Mrs. Wolcott, her daughter, Sarah Wolcott, and daughter’s friend, John, took a vacation to Vancouver, Victoria and Whisler, Canada. She made her first trip by herself to her 45th high school reunion at Mt. Clemens in September 1999. Mrs. Wolcott and her daughter also took yearly trips to Napa to celebrate their birthdays.

Memorial services will be held at noon Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at the Idyllwild Community Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Mike Laramie of Chapel in the Pines will conduct the service. A graveside service will not be held. Burial will be at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside.

Besides her daughter, Sarah, of Manhattan Beach, she is survived by a daughter, Debbie Wolcott of Desert Hot Springs; and two dogs, Teddy and Tessy. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred; son, Dwight Wolcott; and a brother, Dwight Hecht.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made for the cardiac unit to Little Company of Mary Hospital Foundation, 4101 Torrance Blvd., Torrance, CA 90503.
