Lois Collins-Mitchell, 84, of Idyllwild, beloved mother and grandmother, died of pneumonia at Hemet Valley Medical Center Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007.
Ms. Collins-Mitchell was born in 1923 in Minneapolis. She was a housewife, and had owned a home in Idyllwild since 1972.
No services are scheduled.
She was active in the community and will be missed by many.

Barry Nestande, longtime chief of staff for Fourth District Supervisor John J. Benoit, died unexpectedly Friday afternoon, March 19. According to sources, he was working out in a gym, collapsed and subsequently died at Desert Sun Hosptial. Nestande is the brother of 63rd District Assemblyman Brian Nestande. Ellene Mertens, 85, of Hemet, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006 at Hemet Valley HealthCare Center from a combination of heart problems and Alzheimer’s disease.
