Lee Kinney, 75, of Hemet, died of cancer Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, in Hemet.

He was born March 6, 1931 in Pennsylvania to Lee and Dorothy Kinney.

Mr. Kinney was a custom asphalt contractor throughout his life, and a member of the American Legion.

He lived in Idyllwild for many years before retiring to Hemet. Mr. Kinney paved hundreds of driveways in Idyllwild, and also gave Pine Cove its first post office.

A memorial service is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Valle Vista Baptist Church, 44394 E. Florida Ave., Hemet. Pastor Ken Landis will officiate.

Mr. Kinney is survived by his wife, Bonnie Kinney; a sister, Patricia Gallinger of Golden, Calif.; and many grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in his memory be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
