Jere is survived by his loving wife, Gail; sister Dixie Ruiz; daughter Charity Akuna; stepson Eric Wright; adopted daughter Renee Barnaul; adopted son Bruce Stewart; nieces Gabrielle, Vikki, Kellie and Angelina; nephews Vincent and Tym; and his loving pets: four doxies, Myra, Monkey, Little Daddy and Pokey and three cats, Bitty, Boxie and Fuzz.

Jere was a music lover and movie fan. He was also active in the Idyllwild Area Historical Society.

A celebration of Jere’s extraordinary life will be held at his home in Idyllwild at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to Vitas Hospice in Cathedral City.
