Richard Jordan, 89 years old, formerly from Palos Verdes Estates, Idyllwild and Santa Barbara, peacefully passed away on Aug. 5, 2011.
Born in Los Angeles on March 10, 1922, Richard met his lifetime sweetheart, Marjorie, at McGill University and they married on May 23, 1944. They lived most of their lives in Southern California, moving to Santa Barbara in 2003 to be close to their children and grandchildren.
Lt. Richard Jordan was a WWII torpedo bomber pilot attached to VT-7 aboard the U.S.S. Hancock (CV-19) in 1945. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Metal, Gold Star and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Marjorie; his three children, Richard Jordan of Los Osos, Merilee Conley of Los Olivos and Sandee Beckers of Santa Barbara; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A private celebration of his life will take place with his entire family.
