Jim Crandall, Palms to Pines Golf Association handicap chair, provided this report on the Friday, March 16, golf tournament:

The club held its regular monthly tournament at The Oak Valley Golf Club. It was so foggy in the morning that if you hit a good drive off the first tee, you couldn’t see where your ball landed. The fog lifted mid-morning, revealing a sunny, chilly day with light winds.

John McAndrews (course handicap 39) came in first with a net 69. Bill Ragland (15) took second with a net 72. between Robert Priefer (24) and Bill Sanborn (29) with net 74s tied for third, and John Brower (10) rounded out the top five with a net 76.

Of the four par 3 holes, the closest to the pin contest winners were Pete Capparelli on hole 3, Brower on hole 6, Bob Stearns on hole 11, and Crandall on hole 14.
