William “Bill” Martin was born March 13, 1925, and passed away on May 5, 2012, in Hemet, Calif. He was 87 years old. Martin was born on a farm in Granbury, Texas. He served in the Navy for three years during World War II on a destroyer in the South Pacific. He worked in the industrial saw and tool industry for 42 years, and retired in 1988. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners. Martin loved to golf and came to Idyllwild many times to visit his family.

He leaves his loving family, wife June, who has shared 66 wonderful years together; daughter, Carol Jones (David) of Idyllwild; five grandchildren, Mike VanZee (Shana) of Hemet, Jeff VanZee (Stacey) of Hemet, Justin Jones (Denise) of Idyllwild, Meghan Carey (Hal) of Virginia and Idyllwild, and Jenny Lozano (Ben) of Idyllwild; and six great-grandchildren.
