Clyde Wesley Gibson, Jr.

Clyde Wesley Gibson, Jr., 75, of Hemet, Calif., passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Hemet Valley Medical Center in Hemet.

Clyde was born Tuesday, Oct. 18, 1938, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. He was the son of the late Clyde and Frances Kempton Gibson.

In 1956, Clyde joined the Army Security Agency and served three exciting years traveling the world serving his country; he went on to utilize his new skills working in computer systems and data processing until 1968.

Clyde married Patricia, the love of his life, on July 4, 1965. He was a proud graduate of Loyola Marymount University, class of 1972 with a degree in accounting. He was a business manager and worked for Cypress Mines Corporation as a special projects accountant/auditor and was working for the LA Rams when they played in the 1980 Super Bowl. Clyde was employed with Idyllwild Arts Academy for more than 18 years and was an active member of both the Idyllwild and Hemet Rotary Clubs. Clyde enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching golf, going to the zoo and barbecuing. He was hard-working, honest and trustworthy.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Gibson; daughters Whitney Girdner and Lindsay Gibson; brother James Gibson; and grandsons Nicholas and Zane Girdner.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at Miller-Jones Mortuary Hemet at 1501 West Florida Ave. in Hemet. Interment will be in the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside.
