Four paws up to Buddy the beagle. It was hard to get past those sad eyes and great personality and now you are in the most perfect home a four-legged could ever ask for. He is smiling now. And on the
feline end, Mama Lizzie has her perfect home with her
canine buddy.

critters-black-kitten1And that leaves Poppy, the last kitten dropped off on the front porch. He is a young male and loves to play. His brother, sisters and mama have gone to their forever home. Meow… what about me? Poppy is a bit shyer than his siblings, but still is good with other cats and humans.

critters-HemmingwaysThe Hemingway brothers are the new boys on the block. Ernie and Wilson are polydactyls. However, Ernie is a poly on all four paws. Very rare. They are 6-month-old kittens who still need some socialization to respond to the human touch. Ernie is friendliest among the two.

We have several adult cats in our cattery, too. And a new kitten, 6-month-old Dusty, a gray, medium-haired male. He loves to play with the dogs’ toys, although he will arch his back if he sees a dog. He is good with other cats and absolutely loves humans. Come in and meet Dusty.

Archie
Archie

Archie was the perfect gentleman during Halloween, amidst many human legs and other canines. He has come a long way in his training. He will still every once in a while give a little warning bark, but with proper commands, he understands that all is OK. Archie is wishing upon that star in the sky for a home by Christmas. Come give this boy a chance. He is great with other dogs and cats, and loves car rides. Walks are always fun,  as are treats.

ARF has many cats and dogs available for adoption or fostering. Go to www.arfidyllwild.weebly.com and click on Petfinder. There is also a link for Facebook, too.

All pets are spayed, neutered and current on shots. ARF is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.

This week, Creature Corner is sponsored in Memory of Cotton. To sponsor the column, call Lisa Streeter at the Town Crier, 951-659-2145.

Found: Almost all black male cat near Fireside Inn in Idyllwild. Blue collar. Please call ARF at (951) 659-1122 to identify. Abandoned on the ARF front porch in a cardboard box, alone and afraid, was a beautiful female Maine coon tabby mix we are calling Sweet Pea. A soft mixture of gray, black and white, she will be available soon for adoption. A reminder: It is against the law to abandon your animals. Without a medical record, we have no record of prior vaccinations and rabies shots, which could result in over inoculation.
