The Mountain Center Post Office, which was closed due to weather until further notice, has re-opened. Acting Postmaster Gary Hartwell was on duty Thursday, Feb. 21, despite having to drive from his home in the Hemet-San Jacinto area. He said the post office will have its usual hours.

The Idyllwild Water District (IWD) directors unanimously decided to maintain water and sewer rates at the current levels rather than implement the possible 6-percent rate increase authorized last year. The board also agreed to continue its June 21 meeting to 5 p.m. June 30, in order to review and decide upon its preliminary 2011-12 budget….

The Idyllwild grinding facility will resume Saturday operations beginning May 2. On Saturdays, operations will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The facility is located at the 5,000-foot marker, one mile south of the Idyllwild Transfer Station on Highway 243.
