Last week in “The Days of Our Nine Lives,” new ARF cats Ginger and Maryann were learning the ropes from the veteran felines.kittens kitten 5 kitten 4 kitten 3 kitten 2 kitten 1

Bill: Wow. That was a quiet weekend. Not one human visitor.

Mr. Gray: Don’t you remember? Everyone was at the beer festival. I heard it was great!

Leia: Me, too. The ARF staff said they’ll do it again next June, first Saturday.

Ginger: Excuse me. I hate to change the subject, but have you seen all those kittens?

Leia: I have. All seven of them. They’re so cute.

Bobbie: Cute, for kittens, I guess. Maryann will probably love them.

Ginger: I’m sure she would, but Maryann has already found a forever home.

Bill: How did that happen? There were no humans visiting last weekend.

Ginger: Well, Maryann and I went to the vet last week to be spayed, and one of the vet techs fell in love with her.

Bobbie: Oh, geez. What am I doing wrong? Why can’t some human see how friendly and awesome I am?

Bill: Hate to, but I gotta agree with you, Bobbie. You’re one of the friendliest felines here.

Mr. Gray: And if you go, Bobbie, maybe I’ll be noticed. You kinda hog all the attention from the humans.

Bobbie: If I don’t let ’em know how awesome I am, who will?

Bill: And we’ll have lots of competition now with these really cute kittens.

Leia: True, but remember there are humans who want cats who aren’t quite so, um, active.

Ginger: Like me? Give me a lap and some love, and I’ll be the purrrrrfect pet.

Mr. Gray: Just as all of us adults would be if we were just given the chance.

Will the kittens overshadow the adults, again? Be sure to keep up with the animal antics of “The Days of Our Nine Lives” each week. And please stop in to say hello to the entire adoptable cast at the ARF House, 26890 Hwy. 243, Saturdays 10-4 and Sundays 10-2, or by appointment M-F by calling 951-659-1122.
