June Oliverio LaMantia
June LaMantia of Palm Desert passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends in her home under hospice care on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016.

She was born June 14, 1934, in Plainfield, Illinois, attended the University of Colorado, and had successful careers as a high school career counselor in Belmont and in real estate sales in Carmel, before retirement to Palm Desert in 2002.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Joseph LaMantia; her three children, Lisa Nesbit-Macek, Wallace Nesbit and Laura Nesbit; her stepdaughter, Kristen LaMantia-Lopez; three grandchildren; and her loyal puppy, Jake.

Before her final weeks, she enjoyed her many desert friendships, traveling and being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

No memorial services are currently being planned, but memorial contributions may be made to Gilda’s Club, 73555 Alessandro Drive, Palm Desert, CA 92260.
