Jan Jaspers-Fayer, former Idyllwild resident and lifelong artist, passed of natural causes on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019.
He died peacefully in San Pedro with his family by his side. Jan was 90 years young. Jan and his wife, Elisabeth (deceased 2014), were active members in the Idyllwild community.
They were involved in many organizations including The Rotary Club of Idyllwild, Idyllwild Arts Academy/ISOMATA, Art Alliance of Idyllwild, Idyllwild Garden Club and the Idyllwild Area Historical Society. Jan’s spirit lives on in his art, which can be seen throughout the town.
Jan is survived by his daughters, Anita Dixon and Marian Jaspers-Fayer, three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In keeping with Jan’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Jan and Elisabeth loved Idyllwild — their residence for over 40 years — and its community spirit.
To honor Jan and Elisabeth, donations can be made in their name to The Rotary Club of Idyllwild, P.O. Box 152, Idyllwild, CA 92549.
