Nancy Jane Monroe
Nancy Jane Monroe of Idyllwild and Hemet died Monday, May 6, 2013 of natural causes. She was born to Ernie and Mildred Gorman of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada, on October 10, 1931. Nancy was 81 years old.

During her lifetime, Nancy worked as a registered nurse. She lived in Canada from her birth until 1954, when she moved to Los Angeles. She lived there from 1954 to 1985 when Nancy moved to Idyllwild, Calif. She lived here most of the time, with some time after 2007 spent in Hemet.

Idyllwild had been Nancy and her husband Al’s sanctuary for the last 45 years.

Their cabin remains a source of joyous memories for her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Alfred James Monroe of Idyllwild; her son Sean Monroe of Sacramento, Calif.; her daughters Sandy Lewis of Lakewood, Calif. and Kathleen Phillips of Sacramento; and grandchildren Glen and Michelle Monroe of Sacramento; Ryan and Shauna Barton of Lakewood, and Bryce and Alora Phillips of Sacramento.
