Edwin Herman Lundquist, 91, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage.

He was born Feb. 14, 1910, in St. Paul, Minn., to Victoria Olson Lundquist and Gustav Lundquist. He was one of seven children — two boys and five girls.

Mr. Lundquist and his wife, Catherine “Tat” Curran, were owners of Lundquist Electric Co. in Long Beach until retirement to the desert in 1965. In 1981, “Tat” died. In 1987, Mr. Lundquist married Theda Simpson of Indio, Palm Desert and Idyllwild.

His wife, Theda, of Palm Desert, survives him, as do two sisters, Marion Brygider of Garden Grove and Elsie Madson of Lakewood; and three granddaughters, Carrie Cramer of Belmont Shore, Laurie Greene of Anaheim and Christine Lundquist of Stockton. Three stepchildren and numerous other grand and great-grandchildren also survive him.

Two sons from an earlier marriage predeceased him: Donald Lundquist in 1981 and Gary Lundquist in 1986. His grandson, James Lundquist, also predeceased him in 1991.

Mr. Lundquist was a life member of the College of the Desert Friends of the Library and of the Palm Desert Historical Society. He also was a 65-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

No services were held. The Neptune Society handled arrangements.

A memorial for family will be planned at a later date.
