Mary Julianne Ryan, 63, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage.

A resident of Idyllwild, Ms. Ryan died of heart disease after a long illness.

She was born Nov. 19, 1936 in Los Angeles and had lived in Idyllwild for many years.

She had run a security service on the Hill but was retired at the time of her death.

Ms. Ryan was active in Mountain Community Patrol and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints in Idyllwild.

Memorial services are planned for 7 pm. Friday, Dec. 8 at her Idyllwild church with President David E. Peeler conducting.

She is survived by a daughter, La Vonne Reese and a brother, James Welke.
