Don Shinkle, 75, of Idyllwild, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001.

Mr. Shinkle was born May 31, 1926. He married Jo in 1950 and the couple had five children.

The Shinkles owned retail and wholesale nurseries in Hemet and the San Fernando Valley. They also owned a Sizzler restaurant.

The couple moved to Idyllwild in 1975.

Mr. Shinkle was a member of the Rotary Club of Idyllwild for 10 years, a member of the Associates of Idyllwild Arts Foundation and a member of the Queen of Angels Catholic Church.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church.

Along with his wife, Mr. Shinkle is survived by his five children, Don, Jim, Susan, Bill and John; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
