Jeremy Teeguarden reported on Town Hall Adult Volleyball for the week of Dec. 5.

The adult volleyball league kicked off Monday, Dec. 5 with a match between the two teams who were in last year’s championship.

Idyllwild Garage and Idyllwild Inn looked sharp in their first games since last winter. Idyllwild Inn won the first game, but it wasn’t easy 28-26. Paula Shirley set great for the Inn all match long. Janey Espinoza played well for the Garage; but Idyllwild Inn won the match in three games to avenge their loss in the championship last year.

On Tuesday, Silver Pines took on team Boss. In a back and forth match, both teams again looked very sharp. Caleb Anderson for Silver Pines and Ryan Henninger hit great in a back and forth match, which came down to the fifth and deciding game. It began close; but Silver Pines went on a run to win the game 15-7 and the won the match 3-2.

On Wednesday, Dec. 7, two newly formed teams went toe-to-toe in their first match. Idyllwild Chevron played Forest Lumber in close match.

The teams went back and forth as Brennen Priefer was all over the place for Chevron. Michelle Bower played great for Forest Lumber. Similar to the previous night, the match went to a fifth and deciding game. Forest Lumber started well and had the lead midway through the game. Then Chevron cameback and won the game 15-10 and their first match 3-2.

On Saturday Oct. 15, two Minor League games were played. The first game was between the Idyllwild Heating and Cooling Bobcats and the American Legion Hurricanes. The game was fast-paced as both teams went up and down the field. Colby Sonnier scored two nice goals for the Bobcats as did Rene Montoya for the Hurricanes.
The second game pitted the Café Aroma Galaxy and the La Casita Ravens. The Galaxy played tough defense as Julia Wangler fought off the Ravens’ attack over and over. The Ravens’ Elie Manchester played a great game while hustling around the field.
