A few weeks ago, I hoofed it to town for the usual stops in the Strawberry Creek Plaza — post office, Fairway and the pharmacy.

As usual, I bought the maximum that I could carry home. At my last stop, the Idyllwild Pharmacy, I accidentally left my groceries on the floor near the checkout counter.

When I got home, tired but content with my purchases, I discovered I didn’t have my food bag. My doggie, Amy, was disappointed — as I had promised her “soup” bones (after I cook soup).

It took me awhile to backtrack in my mind. I called Janice Mikuls at the pharmacy. She said my bag was there and she had put my meat bones in the fridge.

I picked my groceries right up that morning and made a good soup, which I shared with Amy.
