Lasca Terhorst (who is a beautiful 93) and I went to lunch last Wednesday at the Gastrognome. We had a lovely lunch by the fire. When we were finished, our waitress asked, “Did you see those two Marines sitting in the back?”

I looked but they had already gone. She then said, “They picked up your tab, and wanted to do it as a random act of kindness.”

Perhaps they thought we were mother and daughter, but that really doesn’t matter. It just lifted our spirits.

Here, our soldiers put their lives on the line and still want to give more. I appreciate this from the bottom of my heart.
