Jim Crandall, Palms to Pines Golf Association handicap chair, provided this report about the Friday, June 17, monthly golf tournament, which was played at The Country Club at Soboba Springs in San Jacinto. It was sunny and hot, and the course was in good shape.

Jerry Daquila (course handicap 23) and Lev Sanford (23) tied for first place with net 67s. Dave Robb (14) was alone in third with a net 68. Barry Wallace (12) took fourth with a net 69. And Ken Garelick (24) and John Brower (10) tied for fifth with net 70s.

The closest-to-the-pin winners on the four par 3s were Crandall on three holes (numbers 4, 13 and 15) and Brower on hole number 8.

Brower also won the low gross side pot with an 80.

The 2015-2016 season runs from August 2015 through July 2016.

Points are awarded at each tournament as follows: first place, 6 points; second place, 4 points; third place, 3 points; fourth place, 2 points; fifth place, 1 point. Also, one-half point is awarded to everyone who participates.

A member has to compete in at least five regular-season tournaments to qualify for the playoffs.

The club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association and is sanctioned to establish SCGA handicaps for members.
