Living Free Animal Sanctuary in Mountain Center hosts its annual fundraiser, “It’s All About the Animals,” with a big line-up of stars for this six-hour event from 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5.
Headlining the event is a performance by Grammy-winner Melissa Etheridge. “We are grateful to Melissa Etheridge for dedicating her performance to raise funds to support the mission of Living Free ‘to save cats and dogs facing shelter euthanasia and to place them into loving, forever homes,’” said Living Free President and Executive Director Sharon Maguire.
Actress Sharon Lawrence, best known for her role as Sylvia Costas in the TV drama series “NYPD Blue” will emcee. Award-winning actor and comedian Debi Gutierrez is set to perform. Australian singer Maddie Rose will make a special appearance.
An outdoor festival featuring arts and crafts vendors, a silent auction, an adoption fair and a children’s corner will provide an afternoon of fun and entertainment for all ages.
Living Free is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 no-kill animal sanctuary that saves, rehabilitates and finds qualified homes for orphaned and abused cats and dogs facing imminent shelter euthanasia.
Living Free is situated on 160-acres. The facility offers a clean, modern, state-of-the-art kennel with cozy sleeping quarters and large play and running areas. The animals are not caged. The facility also offers 24-hour health care.
A special tribute is also planned for the firefighter’s who kept Living Free safe from the Mountain Fire this July.
