Brendan Steele posted a 5-over-par 76-73 — 149 at the Houston Open last week to experience his only cut in four tournaments of this early 2019/20 PGA Tour season. Only 57% of his drives found the fairways, allowing him to hit only 64% of the greens in regulation. His putter gave away 1.636 strokes to the field.
The cut dropped the Idyllwild native from 74th to 85th on the FedExCup points list.
Our information is that Steele is taking a month off. As of now, we expect that his next appearances will be in the Mayakoba Golf Classic in Mexico on Nov. 14 and The RSM Classic in Georgia on Nov. 21.
