Wendy Read coached Hemet’s AYSO under 10-girls spring select team this spring, The team finished first during the season and in the Thunderbird tournament in Moreno Valley. At the end-of-season playoffs, after two overtimes, the championship game was still tied. Unfortunately, the girls lost the shoot out by one goal. Local Idyllwild resident Shelby Read (bottom right) was on the team.

Lauren Salter (center), an Idyllwild School alum, and now living in Lake Placid, N.Y., spoke to Idyllwild School students about her Skeleton racing adventures on Thursday, Dec. 20, morning. She showed the equipment she uses, including her sled, and gave a slide/video presentation.
