UPDATE 4:12 p.m.: Dispatch contacting Idyllwild Water District to get permission to dip out of Foster Lake.

UPDATE 4:08 p.m.: Fire crews have made access to the fire. According to SBNF Public Information Officer John Miller, the fire is a 100-foot-by-20-foot "spot in rocky terrain with low growth potential." He added that the cause is under investigation.

UPDATE 3:34 p.m.: A local helicopter with a bucket has been located and is being ordered.

UPDATE 3:30 p.m.: IC trainee is requesting a Forest Service law enforcement officer.

UPDATE 3:23 p.m.: Dispatch is reporting that no local helicopters have water-dropping abilities. The fire will be handled on the ground. Engine 23 and IFPD Brush 61 are being released.

UPDATE 3:18 p.m.: IC trainee reported it has the potential to be a 10th of an acre but not serious threat at this time. Winds are mild.

UDPATE 3:15 p.m.: The Incident Command trainee is reporting that the fire is contained to a small outcropping. Aircraft is being dispatched now to help put out the fire.

 

The San Bernardino National Forest, at about 2:50 p.m. Monday, dispatched a fire engine and a patrol unit to a report of a vegetation fire above Devil's Slide Trail near Lily Rock in the San Jacinto Wilderness.

Cal Fire is dispatching Engine 23 (Pine Cove) and Idyllwild Fire Department will be dispatched.

No aircraft had been dispatched.
