Christopher George Huntley, 47, of Idyllwild, was arrested by a Mt. San Jacinto State Park ranger on Wednesday, Dec. 20, for assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm. He was also charged with a misdemeanor for brandishing the weapon in a fight and quarrel against another male.
At an in-custody arraignment on Dec. 22, Huntley pleaded not guilty. A felony settlement conference was scheduled for Jan. 4. Judge Elaine Kiefer imposed bail of $105,000.
Since 2000, Huntley has been convicted of several felony offenses, including manufacture and possession of a controlled substances and receiving a stolen vehicle.
