Robert Lewis, Town Hall recreation director, gave this report on Town Hall Youth Basketball.

Division 1 (ages 6-9)

On Tuesday, Jan. 30, the Acumen Tree Service Celtics played the American Legion Warriors. Kai Steigan made a bucket and played good defense for the Warriors. Amelie Peebles had a steal and grabbed numerous rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as the Celtics remained undefeated with a 31-11 win over the Warriors.

In the second game, the Café Aroma hosted the Idyology Bulls. Bobbyann Mabery played good defense and made some nice passes for the Lakers. Cainan Cooper played very well with a good all around effort for the Bulls, however, the Lakers upended the Bulls 24-9.

On Friday, Feb. 2, the Idyology Bulls played the Acumen Tree Service Celtics. Dominic Sandlin made a free throw and played a good game for the Bulls. James Clark had the hot hand for the Celtics with 6 points as the Celtics beat the Bulls 39-5.

In the second game, the American Legion Warriors played the Café Aroma Lakers. Indigo Dagnall played very well for the Lakers with 10 points. Angelina Ortega played good defense and grabbed many rebounds for the Warriors, but the Lakers prevailed with a 12-7.

Division 2 (ages 10-13)

On Thursday, Feb. 1, the Fairway Market Spurs played the Higher Grounds Coffee House Kings.

The Kings got a real good effort from Zada Smith grabbing rebounds and overall hustle. Dane Mock played very well for the Spurs with 4 points, but the Kings still beat the Spurs 24-20.

In the second game, the Higher Grounds Coffee House Kings hosted the Idyology Warriors. The Kings jumped out to a 16-7 lead at halftime thanks to a bucket and tenacious defense by Tyler Sonnier. Christian Gonzalez played well for the Warriors with 6 points, but the Kings hung on for a 32-20 victory over the Warriors.

On Friday, Feb. 2, the Fairway Market Spurs played a doubleheader, first playing the Idyology Warriors. This was a great game with several lead changes. Oliver Gonzalez played very well for the Warriors with 4 points. Emma Isaac contributed with a free throw and played good defense for the Spurs as they squeeked by the Warriors 21-20.

The second game came down to the wire as well as the first game. The Higher Grounds Coffee House Kings battled the Fairway Market Spurs. Aaron Hyland scored a bucket for the Spurs. The Kings mounted a big comeback with Anthony Bilecky scoring a bucket for the Kings, but just fell short at the end as the Spurs beat the Kings 18-16.

• Idyllwild Brewpub defeated Perez Cleaning in straight sets 25-14, 25-19, 25-13.

• Idyllwild Garage defeated Perez Cleaning 25-17, 21-25, 25-11, 25-19.

• Idyllwild Brewpub upset Wilson Woodworking 25-23, 16-25, 25-19, 23-25, 15-11.

• Idyllwild Brewpub knocks off Wilson Woodworking and creates a tie for first place with Silver Pines entering the final week of league play.
