Town Hall Sports Coordinator Jeremy Teeguarden reported on Town Hall Youth Volleyball for the week of April 30, including the the previous Friday, April 27.

On Friday, April 27, the last two regular season games were played. The first game pitted Muirs Mountain Realty Green Dragons and the CVC Contractors Hot Shots. The teams split the first two games. Rylan Hardy for the Green Dragons and Stephan Carmen for the Hot Shots played great for their teams. The Hot Shots got off to a good start in the third and final game and went on to win the match. (13-25, 25-22 and 15-8)

The second game was between the Rotary Silver Strikers and Tee’s Tiger Sharks. The Silver Strikers won the first game. Nicole Cochrane served great for the Tiger Sharks and Payton Priefer was diving all over the court for the Silver Strikers. Game two was close the whole way as the teams played extra time. The Silver Strikers got some key points and went on to win the match. (25-22, 28-26 and 10-15)

CVC contractors Hot Shots were all over the floor in their effort to win the Town Hall Youth Volleyball championship.

On Monday, April 30, the playoffs started. The first match saw the Rotary Silver Strikers take on Muirs Mountain Realty Green Dragons. The Green Dragons played great at the right time as they won the first game. Mei Jing Hunt played great for the Green Dragons. The Silver Strikers were close the whole second game as Emma Johnston and Miren Pino had nice bumps for the Silver Strikers. In the end though, the Green Dragons held on to win the match. (25-15 and 25-23)

The second playoff game was between the CVC Contractors Hot Shots and Tee’s Tiger Sharks. The Hot Shots started hot early as they won a close first game. Rene Hernandez had nice hits for the Tiger Sharks. Fernando Lopez led the way with some big serves in game two as the Hot Shots went on to win the match. (26-24, 25-21)

On Friday, May 5, the third place and championship games were held.

The game for third place matched the Rotary Silver Strikers and Tee’s Tiger Sharks. Both teams played well as they split the first two games. Lainie Wilke hustled all over the court for the Silver Strikers. In game three, Aaron Potter’s big serves led the Tiger Sharks to victory, (25-16, 20-25 and 15-8).

The championship game pitted Muirs Mountain Realty Green Dragons and the CVC Contractors Hot Shots. The Green Dragons won only one game during the regular season but improved throughout the year and played great in the playoffs. Lauren Badger led the Green Dragons’ charge with good bumping and serving. The Hot Shots played hard all match but in the end the Green Dragons were too tough and won the championship match in two games. (25-19 and 25-21)
