The Pine Cove Property Owners Association decided to make several contributions to local organizations at its May meeting.

A dozen Hill organizations were beneficiaries of the PCPOA’s $6,000 of generosity.

Mountain Disaster Preparedness received $1,250.

A $1,000 contribution has been earmarked for the Idyllwild HELP Center. These funds will be available for assistance of Pine Cove residents for propane costs and the Christmas Angel Tree.

Also, the Mountain Communities Fire Safe Council’s Woodies will receive a $1,000 donation to help with equipment expenses after the theft.

Six local organizations — Animal Rescue Friends (ARF) of Idyllwild, the Idyllwild Area Historical Society, the Idyllwild Summer Concert Series, Mile High Radio Club, the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and local emergency radio station, WNKI — will be recipients of $250 each.

The Idyllwild School smARTS program will receive $150. And a $100 was granted to the Forest Folk.

Another $1,000 was set aside for scholarships to Pine Cove students. The PCPOA is planning to contact the Hemet High School Counseling Department in order to establish a Pine Cove Scholarship Fund.
