Heartfelt appreciation goes to the Town Crier for the awesome job you did during the Mountain Fire crisis.
We are part-timers with a home on Double View, and your website was a huge help in understanding the scope of the fire, the strategies used to battle it, and the mammoth efforts by firefighters to achieve significant containment.
It was, frankly, hard to think about anything else during that scary week, even here in Seal Beach.
I recommended your site to many people for updated information, besides checking it myself multiple times each day. The maps, photos, stories — all of it helped keep us in the loop with breaking news, and we are most grateful.
We just received the current Town Crier in the mail and the overview is impressive.
Welcome home to Idyllwild residents and others who evacuated, and grateful thanks to those who stayed to help (like Gary and Chip, and the Red Kettle crew).
It was a great relief, also, to read that Living Free escaped major damage, and that the animals were kept safe.
Keep up the fine work.
