The Young Idyllwild Demonstration Garden enjoyed a leap forward recently with a donation of fruit tree varieties made by Jack Stone in honor of his late wife Joan McIvor, who was an avid gardener.

Planting of the trees was made possible by Ken Gioeli, noted local landscape designer/builder. Gioeli and members of his crew, Romi Rankin, Kevin Turner, Andy Perez and Christian Maldonado, made short work of removing the trees from Stone’s property and planting them at the Demonstration Garden site on the corner of North Circle Avenue and Alderwood Street.

IDG coordinators Bob Greenameyer and April Palmer invite members of the community to get involved in developing the garden and participating in the upcoming classes and activities. Winter projects will include starting seedlings in the greenhouse and continuing development of the site.
