Last week in “Days of Our Nine Lives,” the ARF cats were confused by the sunshine!
Thomas: Everyone is still here. Darn it! No adoptions.
Zeus: Even though we did have some visitors. The yard sale was pretty busy.
Heavenly Whiskers: And now the ARF volunteers are busy getting ready to celebrate ARF’s 25th anniversary!
Sadie: Wow! Are we going to celebrate, too? Perhaps a bit of cat nip?
Heavenly Whiskers: You’re funny, Sadie. They are having an anniversary party and fundraiser Friday night at Middle Ridge.
Mr. Gray: Are they taking us along for the fun?
Pepper: No. But everyone anywhere is invited.
Zeus: That sounds so good. Imagine, 25 years of helping homeless dogs and cats on our mountain.
Bear: I think one of the ways, besides Friday night, that humans could celebrate would be to adopt a new, four-legged best friend.
Mr. Gray: I’ll volunteer for that! I’ll be a best friend, and I just happen to have four legs.
Indie: Me, too! But I’d like to be the only pet in the house.
Thomas: I think the rest of us would be fine with another cat, and some of us might be just fine with a dog.
George: I would think we’d all be fine with other cats. Look at our roommates. Ha!
Heavenly Whiskers: Except for Indie who is the office cat. He has the whole room to himself.
Thomas: Just goes to show ya that we each have our own personalities and preferences. I like perching high up to watch everything that’s happening.
Pepper: So do I, Thomas. But George likes to be where the action is.
George: Got that right. I hang out where I know I’ll be petted by each visitor.
Sadie: Smart boy, George!
