Atlas

By Janice Murasko
Last week in “Days of Our Nine Lives,” the ARF cats welcomed Cuddles and her litter of four.
Phil: Holy catnip! These kittens are adopted so quickly.
Harley: I know, right? Cuddles and her kittens just got here, and now they are almost all gone!
Phil: Four of the five kittens are in their forever homes. Just Atlas is left and mama Cuddles.
Don: So why are they still here?
Harley: Well, Atlas is probably here because he is pretty darned shy.
Candy: Whoever adopts him must be patient.
Phil: He will be a great family member once he is comfortable.
Candy: And Cuddles? She is a beautiful, sweet girl.
Cuddles: Are you talking about me? It’s a bit quiet now that all but one of my babies is gone.
Candy: But now you are freed-up, so to speak, to find your own forever home.
Whiskers: It won’t take long, I’m guessing.
Candy: Hey! I’m super friendly, too! I should have my forever home.
Don: Oh, Candy, don’t pout. The right person will come along soon, just for you.
Phil: And for me!
Don: And me.
Pepper: For all of us. But in the meanwhile, we are in a very good place!
