Concerned about the increase in commercial-jet aircraft flying over the Hill and the potential harm to communities below, a group of residents has organized to return quiet skies to the area.

“Quiet Skies Idyllwild” is for residents and visitors to the Hill who seek peace and quiet, and idyllic surroundings, but are disturbed every few minutes by a jet overhead.

In addition to developing a petition and researching similar Quiet Skies organizations around the country, the group is reaching out to the area’s legislators for assistance.

The concerned public is invited to join the conversation at 2 p.m. Mondays at Café Aroma. The group will have a petition-signing table during the Fourth of July Parade.
