MCFSC said it still has grant funds to provide low-income and disabled/elderly property owners abatement at no cost.

The CFSC writes, “The selected projects help California communities respond to the growing concern over a catastrophic wildfire and exemplify efforts to create fire-adapted communities. Through subgrants from CFSC, these projects provide support to implement fuel reduction projects such as community chipper programs, fuel breaks, and roadside and defensible space projects.

“These projects will also utilize educational tools to spread the fire safe message and engage community members.”

CFSC partners include the U.S. Forest Service, Cal Fire, Edison International, Farmers Insurance Company, State Farm, Cal Fire, California Department of Conservation, Fire Adapted Communities Earning Network and Governor’s Office of Emergency Services.
