At 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, a single-vehicle collision occurred on Highway 243 south of Vista Grande Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. A silver 2016 Ford Fusion driven by Christopher Gatt, 25, of Idyllwild, while traveling south on Highway 243, swerved left to avoid a deer and his vehicle overturned. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was towed to Idyllwild Garage.

At 9:08 a.m. Friday, July 13, a solo-vehicle crash took place on Highway 74 south of Pacific Crest Trail. George Rowell Jr., 67, of Idyllwild, driving a silver 2015 Subaru Forester, was travelling eastbound on Highway 74 when he saw a vehicle passing and coming toward him. Rowell swerved to the right to avoid a collision and collided with a drainage ditch. He and his passenger complained of pain but were not transported. The vehicle was driven from the scene.
